Position Summary
While working as a Purchasing Specialist in Promotions you will be tasked with fulfilling duties and performing tasks related to processing orders and assisting in the operational functions of the department. The person in this position assists with creating logos and design, project management of customer order needs, and collaboration with Relationship Managers in supporting customer interfacing plans and actions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Use professional and courteous communication skills to listen to requests in order to accurately define or determine needs and provide the appropriate response
  • Estimate by communicating with the relationship manager and building a cost analysis in the company’s ERP system to determine the cost
  • Research promo items and apparel for relationship managers as requested, creativity encouraged
  • Contact customers to respond to inquiries or to notify them of any unforeseen adjustments if the relationship manager is unavailable
  • Utilize specialized computer software to enter job information and receive an accurate estimate
  • Revise estimates as needed due to specific changes in the order
  • Communicate with relationship managers and clients on a regular basis about jobs
  • Troubleshoot for any product issues that occur
  • Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance
  • Can do, happy to attitude
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. Prior experience or training in the promotional industry or a related field is required.
  • Computer Skills-Performing this job successfully requires that an individual have a solid understanding of computers, data entry, internet searches, the Microsoft Office suite, and email applications. Experience with Indesign and Illustrator preferred.
  • Ability to write effective correspondence to customers and coworkers
  • Vision abilities required by this job include being able to see clearly at 20 inches or less, distinguish colors, and adjust focus
  • Mathematical abilities required by this job include reading a ruler, calculating simple costs, and other basic mathematical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • the ability to tie all components of a project together. Possess the vision to see how a project will move through from concept to completion, plan accordingly and provide accurate information to the team.
  • Ability to manage independently. Keep your manager informed and apprised of important matters within your department as needed, but after your successful training, you should be able to effectively manage yourself and your daily workflow without aid or supervision.
