Leveraging Relationships
With Domestic Factories
Presented By: Mitchell Cahn, Unionwear
About the Session:
Learn how the forces in the economy have disrupted the era of cheap imports, what kinds of end users are buying USA-made products now that the cost differential has shrunk, and what kinds of products cost almost the same to produce domestically as overseas. This is a perfect time for promotional products professionals to distinguish themselves as domestic sourcing experts.
About the Presenter:
Mitchell Cahn works for Unionwear, a 32,000 square foot cut-and-sew accessories factory in Newark, New Jersey, with over 100 machine operators. Unionwear's commitment to Lean Manufacturing Techniques enables it to compete with union labor while producing completely custom made hats, bags, (such as garment bags and attaches), safety vests, and scrubs. This insight into the manufacturing process has helped its distributors realize that their local manufacturers can make anything they dream up--different styles, unlimited fabrics, decoration locations, all over prints.
